Biography: Robert J. Shapiro has been a partner at The Shapiro Firm, LLP since 1998, where he counsels and litigates concerning general corporate and commercial matters, intellectual property and unfair competition. He started working at the firm after graduating from the Michigan State University School of Law in 1994.
Mr. Shapiro is a member of the New York State Bar Association (Member, Intellectual Property Section and Special Committee on Cyberspace Law), Association of the Bar of the City of New York (Past Member, Committee on Information Technology; Trade Marks and Unfair Competition Committee), and a lifetime member of the Michigan State University School of Law Alumni Association. He was also a former member, of the Board of Zoning Appeals of the Village of Roslyn, New York.
Mr. Shapiro is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey, and has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
He has co-authored: “Start-Up and Grow with Counsel: Tackling Legal Issues Confronting Small Businesses,” The Shapiro Firm, LLP, 2011.
Mr. Shapiro lives on Long Island with his wife and children. He has volunteered as a coach of: the Half Hollow Hills Youth Lacrosse, NFL Youth Flag Football, St. Matthew’s and Dix Hills Youth Basketball programs.
